Guidelines for Reading Response Papers

Your reading response paper should be at least 300 words. You can write more, but if you do please be sure to proofread and edit your response so that you are sending a coherent piece of writing and not a stream-of-consciousness ramble. You can write about any number of things, such as:

1. What you see as the most important themes in the reading;
2. Something that caught your attention that you want to learn more about;
3. Something that really made you think;
4. Something that you think is wrong or incorrect;
5. Something you think would make a good topic for class conversation;
6. Something not mentioned in the reading but that is tangentially related and worth discussing further.

Please email your response papers to me by 9 pm the night before class. You should send me your response in the body of an email - no MS Word attachments please!

Finally, please also print your response, bring it to class, and be prepared to share your thoughts.
